In 1999, Chrissy and myself (Rachel) - funky chicken girls - put together a book of postcards from all over the world representing the members of Conga. We received 64 postcards total, and these were bound into two books. The postcards themselves were mounted on recycled cardboard, with the picture side showing against the ribs of the cardboard and the messages to Gloria mounted in a map of the country or state the person was from. See the photos on the right to see what the finished product looked like!! Inside the book, I wrote an intro from Conga to Gloria........ Dear Gloria, This is a book of birthday wishes for you, from all of us at Conga. It is a collection of postcards from all over the world, each one representing one of the members of our list, but all of them wishing you a wonderful birthday. We hope that through this book you will be able to feel the love that all of us in the Conga family have for you. We have our ups and downs - we are one of the most diverse groups in existence, but the one thing that always brings us together is our love for you. In one way or another, you have touched all of our lives. You are an incredible human being as a singer, composer, wife, mother, actress, or whatever other role you choose to take on, but most of all as a woman who has made us all laugh, smile, even cry on occasion, and of course..........party!!! You give us your "love & luck" on a daily basis, and on your birthday, we wish it all back to you. We will all be thinking of you on September 1 and hoping that your day is filled with love, happiness, family, and whatever else you wished for!! You are our inspiration, our idol, and forever a part of the "Conga Family". So from all of us to you...........HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Muy feliz cumpleaños!!!
