I guess if you're GONNA have a mailing list you have to talk about SOMETHING! And me being the "controversial" figure that I am (especially after that MIDEM thing........phew!), find myself now embroiled in Gloriagate: Is It Really Her Answering Those E-mails? I have a few things to say about that.......hopefully it will calm your fears (NOT EVERYBODY'S..................I KNOW!) To those of you that already believe this is ME writing this will simply serve as further proof! Now........about someone's comment that "it sounded like me talking", every close friend of mine that "talks" to me via the computer has told me the exact same thing! And you know what I tell them? "Of course, I do because you KNOW what I sound like!
Whoever noticed that Brad did the Bongos site and was working on our Fan Club site was right on the money, as well. Brad screens my mail and keeps me posted if there's anything more urgent or special to take care of right away but sends EVERY ONE of your e-mails. Believe me, I have 51 unanswered e-mails!(Super backed up!) And I ask all of you with unanswered e-mail, to please be patient. I'll get to them (eventually). But to ALL of you I say, remember I don't have much time at all now to answer mail. And I would NEVER allow another person to write as me. Someone might send a letter "in my name" but I would NEVER allow someone to pass themselves off as ME. Besides I think you can tell a person's personality through the computer. If not, why would anybody bother with this whole thing? And it should be obvious to you by now and with the letter I sent you all through Rick, that this is really ME here!..................... I do understand you "questioning souls, though, since I am a bit of an "inch-high private eye" myself (my sister calls me that on occasion).I analyze things to death as well but in the end I'll always go with my gut feeling (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, Hesperos). And you should all go with yours! Perhaps the fact that I actually sat down and answered all those e-mails made you think it couldn't really be ME. Well, were it not for the fact that I go to sleep veeeery late at night there is no way I could have done that. And (hate to say) won't be able to do too much longer before we leave for europe. In fact, I've wanted to write the list for awhile to suggest that I talk to you ALL directly and actually would like to organize some sort of "chat" with you before we go on the net with a live interview sometime in April or May (I'm not sure which). Also with the kind of schedule I've had this week and WILL be having I'm going to have to get some sleep no matter how much I want my computer! By the way, please note the time that I am writing this, my day finished 1 1/2 hours ago. That should give you some idea of how little time I have left for things I enjoy. And I have truly enjoyed communicating with you and learning how much you enjoy what I do. Your letters make me very happy and are a beautiful part of my career. I have no reason to trick you and you all know how long you've had this list and how recently I've been involved. It hasn't been that long since I barely began using this venue to communicate with my you. But I saw how my fans went to so much trouble to set up web sites, mailing lists, etc., that I felt compelled to respond to you in a way that was not only easy, but I enjoyed immensely. This is why I write you back. And I promise you this is really me! Now if some of you STILL have doubts then I can't do anything about that but I guess we always need a "little" controversy to make things interesting............................!
