I don't have a copy of the Official Conga Bash 1999 itinerary (if anyone does, please email it to me at
submissions@congaonline.net). Here's what I can tell you:
Friday March 19th Friday morning was the tour of Crescent Moon Studios. Conga members provided their own transportation and waited in the lobby until all had arrived. Jennine from EEI brought the Conga group on an informal tour of the studios. The group was divided in half, with one group watching a behind the scenes video in the recording booth while the other half took the tour. Conga members were shown all the different recording studios and even Emilio's office! Friday afternoon Gloria provided a buffet lunch of cuban food for the Conga group back at the Cardozo Hotel. Saturday March 20th The Conga Bash took place at the Cardozo Hotel, from 12 noon until after 8 pm. The party included lots of dancing, with DJ Chencha and our special guest DJ Nayib Estefan. This first Conga Bash also featured the very first "quiz" with various Gloria-related prizes, and an auction to benefit the Gloria Estefan Foundation. Gloria arrived later in the evening, and was presented with a large check to her foundation on behalf of Conga Online. The event was a huge success, and the starting point for many more bashes and parties to come! |
